Sheldon Whitehouse Let Us Down

Sheldon Whitehouse let us down when he voted for the FISA Amendments Act. This one law attacks huge portions of the Constitution of the United States, wrecking the balance of power upon which our democracy depends.

When Senator Whitehouse voted for the FISA Amendments Act, he voted:

- For the federal government to spy on you electronically
- Reading your email
- Listening to your telephone calls
- Watching what web pages you visit
- Following your financial transactions
- Searching your home
- Without any explanation of why they're doing it
- Without any power of the FISA court to stop it
- Without oversight by Congress
- Letting the government use information it obtains illegally
- Giving telecommunications companies retroactive immunity for helping the government do this, even though Congress doesn't even know how far the spy program has gone so far.
